Marc Steinberg, MD began his work in primary care in pediatrics and family medicine. In recent years he changed his practice to pediatric and adult diabetes care. He received his undergraduate education at Georgetown University, went to medical school at the University of South Florida and did his residency at the University of Florida.
Marc specializes in Motivational Interviewing (MI) trainings for clinicians working in chronic illness healthcare. He is also a faculty member and consultant at the Johnson & Johnson Diabetes Institute in the US and Canada. He has spoken at medical conferences on Motivational Interviewing and diabetes care. As director of TheGroup4QualityCare he has experience working with healthcare organizations that want to use Motivational Interviewing with healthcare teams to facilitate person centered care.
He is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT), an international group that promotes research and practice in MI, the American Diabetes Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and Alpha Omega Alpha.
He enjoys an active lifestyle running, hiking and camping. He has had Type 1 diabetes for 40 years.
Chris is a Professor of Psychology at The University of Montana and a licensed clinical psychologist. She has been a member of MINT (the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers) since 1999 and updated her credentials in 2009. She has conducted numerous MI workshops for a wide range of professionals in the medical, mental health, and educational fields. Her research and practice involve application of her knowledge of best practices for facilitating behavior change.
